About

American Muslim Experience (AME) — AME’s mission is to document, preserve, and share the lives, stories, histories, and lived experiences of Muslims in America. Through documentary photography, oral history, writing, exhibitions, education, and archive-building, AME works to create a fuller and more enduring record of American Muslim life—one that reflects everyday experiences, family, faith, work, migration, creativity, service, joy, grief, community, and belonging, not only moments of crisis or public controversy. The long-term goal is to build a lasting public resource that preserves these stories with dignity, context, and care while helping future generations better understand the depth and diversity of Muslim life in America.
